This course will expose graduate students in the department to cutting edge research topics in the field of cellular biology. There will be two student-led lectures and discussions each month on a current and/or fundamental topic in cellular biology including a background discussion on the topic, a discussion of the major research finding and a discussion of the main conclusions of the paper. This course will help students develop their skills in reading research literature critically and preparing a comprehensive discussion of the paper to their colleagues.
