2019 EII Faculty Development Fellowship

Educational Research Track (ERT): The purpose of the ERT is to facilitate participants’ formation and development as (a) producers of health professions educational research, (b) advocates for educational research within their own departments and the broader Augusta University community, and (c) coaches, mentors, and leaders to other Augusta University faculty who are interested in or engaged in health professions educational research.

Under the ERT the expectations of the Fellows are:

  •  Two year commitment
  •  80% attendance at weekly sessions
  •  Attend Health Science Education Day
  • Attend EII sponsored event, schedule permitting · Completion and publication of an educational research study

Teaching Scholars Track (TST): The purpose of the TST is to facilitate participants’ formation and development as (a) health professions educators who are knowledgeable, purposeful, and skilled in teaching, learning, educational assessment, and educational scholarship and (b) educational experts and leaders within their own departments and the broader Augusta University community. 

Under the TST the expectations of the Fellows are:

  •  10 month commitment (no meetings in July or · December) ·
  •  80% attendance at weekly sessions ·
  • Attend Health Science Education Day
  • Attend EII sponsored events, schedule permitting Completion of educational scholarly project

Funding: Faculty applicants negotiate with their department Chair for 10% release time to attend weekly training sessions and to develop a project. The department financially supports this release time.

Start fellowship: January 2019
