To help all employees at Augusta University and AU Health develop their leadership and business acumen competencies, the Office of Leadership Development’s academic courses and programs are organized in the following four curriculum tracks based on these focus questions:

The Office of Leadership Development collaborates with Human Resources, Faculty Development, Educational Innovations Institute, and other units to provide opportunities for individuals to develop their leadership competencies, as well as measure our organizational progress toward creating a culture of authentic leaders.
The term "competence" first appeared in an article authored by R.W. White in 1959, as a concept for performance motivation.
“Competencies” are clusters of measurable and observable knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors critical to an employee’s successful performance of their job.

For the past 3 years, the Office of Leadership Development has been conducting IRB approved pre and post program research on the impact of our programs on the development of authentic leaders.
