The Center for Bioethics and Health Policy (CBHP) is a broad educational program designed for undergraduate students in the Arts and Sciences, Medical College of Georgia and Health Science College students, residents in training, faculty, and staff. A Certificate in Bioethics and Health Policy is available and a Master’s program is currently being developed. The concentrations will be in Medical Humanities, Spirituality, or Health Policy. A special track within the Medical College of Georgia is Leadership Through Ethics, a student sponsored program, which has reached out to students in the other health science colleges.
Medical College of Georgia Ethics Track: The Art of Doctoring
The Art of Doctoring, which includes tutorials in medical ethics, is incorporated in the Medical College of Georgia’s Essentials in Clinical Medicine course for first and second year medical students (M1 and M2). The CBHP has proposed additional case based presentations to be added to the Art of Doctoring. The CBHP has proposed that the curriculum for Academic Year 2019 add an integrated ethics curriculum for the third and fourth year clinical rotations.
