Marketing consists of all the activities and processes for creating, delivering, communicating, and exchanging goods, ideas and services to consumer businesses, and society at large. Marketing stresses research and analysis to understand consumer behavior and to identify customer needs, new product research and development, competitive pricing coordinated promotional or sales programs and efficient distribution. Although sales is one part of marketing, the discipline also includes topics such as new product introduction, pricing, advertising, marketing research, distribution, and many other tasks.
The marketing curriculum emphasizes the skills needed for successful and responsible careers in advertising, promotion, sales and sales management, product management, research, and many other related areas.

Students transferring into the Hull College of Business as Marketing majors are only allowed to transfer up to three Junior/Senior Common Courses and no more than two of the Major Emphasis courses as approved by the College.
