Conference: Critical Question in Education
"I believe that the entire process of the conference, from writing and submitting the call for proposal to presenting at the conference to hearing the suggestion for publication, was an instrumental supplement to my training and development as a counselor. Not only was this a fantastic experience, but our presentation at the conference and a possible publication in a journal will produce a highly marketable résumé. "
Conference: National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy's biennial conference – Beyond Aromatics
"I was excited to have a podium/workshop selected for presentation at NAHA’s Conference. This was my third time attending a NAHA conference, but my first time as a presenter. I met some amazing people - researchers from Australia and a Kenyan physician who is now a practicing aromatherapist in the United States. Thank you to The Graduate School for funding this trip in part."
Conference: Society for Neuroscience Conference
"This was my second time to attending a SFN Conference. Chicago is really a beautiful city. I presented a poster on my project title “Neuron-derived estrogen is critical for neuroprotective astrocyte activation after ischemic injury to the brain." It’s really a good opportunity for me to present my work of this year to other attendees. Through discussions and questions with conference attendees, I received some very valuable suggestions which will make my study stronger.
Conference: Southeastern Psychological Association Annual Meeting
"My colleagues and I presented a research poster regarding the effect of previous
discrimination on blame attribution in hate crime scenarios. This allowed us to discuss
our findings and future directions with many distinguished members of the field. I
was also had the opportunity to represent the department of psychological sciences
and The Graduate School at an informational table for the master’s program in psychology.
This conference experience has provided me with a platform for networking and professional
growth."
Conference: International Society of Nephrology Conference
"As my first international conference as a graduate student, the experience at the ISN conference in Melbourne was outstanding. I had the opportunity to present my research at this conference in a moderated poster session on AKI-CKD transition. The moderated poster session was exciting and unique because it gave each presenting author an allotted time to present their work to a larger audience with similar research interests."
Conference: American Association of Cancer Research Annual Conference
"Attending AACR meeting gave me one fascinating opportunity to visualize the panorama of vibrant cancer research being conducting around the world. During the meeting, I gave an oral and poster presentation. I was able to meet many great scientists working in the same field and discuss my work with them. I received many helpful suggestions from them. For all of this, I’d like to thank The Graduate School for supporting my trip. "
