ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Master of Science in Psychology is a 2-year program designed as a full-time, day-time and year-round program. Many of our students have recently completed their bachelor’s degree in psychology and easily transition into the Master’s degree program.

The MS in Psychology program offers three tracks: Clinical/ Counseling, Applied Experimental, and General Experimental.

Our most popular program, the Clinical/Counseling track, prepares graduates to practice counseling at the master’s level and the curriculum is geared toward meeting the requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor License in Georgia. It is also accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC).

If you are interested in going on to a doctoral program immediately after completing your master’s degree, the general experimental track may be  for you. The Applied Experimental track prepares students to work in a non-clinical or non-counseling areas such as research coordinators or research associates in the private or public sector.

APPLICANT PROFILE

Many of our students are interested in practicing counseling and often provide counseling and assessment services in the mental health setting upon graduation, while others are interested in teaching and research in psychology. The common factor for all three of the concentrations is that you must be interested in psychological science, evidence based practice and human behavior.
