Dr. Rosenkoetter was a funded nurse researcher and educator for more than 30 years. She held administrative positions in hospitals and served as the Dean of the School of Nursing at Augusta University and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She completed more than 50 consultations for hospitals and university nursing programs. Dr. Rosenkoetter served on numerous local and national boards, including the National League for Nursing and Vascular Access Certification Corporation. She completed more than 300 publications and presentations, visited 30 countries, was a reviewer for more than a dozen nursing and health care journals and served as an Associate Editor. Dr. Rosenkoetter was a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and served as Chair of the Expert Panel on Global Nursing and Health.
Dr. Rosenkoetter inspired so many over the years with her passion for educating future nurses.

The Marlene M. Rosenkoetter Endowed Research Award recognizes outstanding PhD students in the College of Nursing at Augusta University pursuing research as a nursing career.
