Light the Path: A Suicide Awareness Event (Fall)

Suicide is a leading cause of death among college and university students in the United States (https://www.sprc.org/settings/colleges-universities). In response, the FYE/SYE Student Advisory Board created an event which would enable students to identify specific mental health services both on and off campus. The event is scheduled during September (Suicide Prevention Month) and is called: Light the Path.

Each year in September, students, faculty and staff gather together to promote connectedness and suicide awareness. Alter watching a student-created documentary and discussion with panel of experts, students will light luminaries along the path to the Counseling Center.
