Clinical Fellowship in Esthetics and Implant Dentistry

There is currently one fellowship program offered, the Clinical Fellowship in Esthetics and Implant Dentistry.

Positions in the Fellowship Program are limited and selection is competitive.  Applicants are encouraged to begin the  application process  as early as possible to ensure that the complete application is received by the deadline.

The Fellowship Program requires that applicants be graduates of Dental schools accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

The Center for Esthetics and Implant Dentistry is accepting applications for participation in an Esthetic Fellowship designed to provide exposure and training in Esthetic Dentistry. The Fellowship is a full-time clinical position, with a provided stipend and is one-year program that will begin July 1, and end June 30.

The Fellowship program is under the direction of Jimmy Londono DDS, Interim Director of the Center for Esthetic and Implant Dentistry,Thomas P. Hinman Endowed Chair of Restorative Dentistry, who is past president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and internationally renowned.

  • Develop expertise in evaluation, treatment planning and management of advanced Esthetic and Implant patient treatment, including interdisciplinary care with the Departments of Orthodontics, Periodontics, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Increase expertise in advanced esthetic techniques for complex all -ceramic crown and porcelain veneer procedures.
  • Achieve clinical expertise with dental adhesive materials and techniques, in managing all phases of porcelain veneer, all-ceramic crown and single-unit implant treatment in the Esthetic Zone.
  • Increase exposure to interdisciplinary treatment planning using Procera Implant Bridges (PIB) and dental implants.
  • Increase exposure to management of occlusal treatment in extensive and complex rehabilitations.

Eligibility is limited to candidates who are U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents, who have earned a DDS or DMD Degree from a U.S. Dental School/College accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation, and who have successfully completed a three-year advanced education certificate or degree in Prosthodontics from a U.S. Dental School accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.

The deadline for submission is December 15th.

The interview and selection process will include separate interviews conducted by the three members of the Esthetic Team and a formal lecture presentation given by the applicant to the Esthetic Team, and faculty.  

Preference will be given to residents who:  

  • Demonstrate superior clinical and didactic performance as evidenced from their transcripts and their residency director’s recommendation. 
  • Demonstrate minimum experience with Esthetic cases and all-ceramic crown technology with documented ongoing treatment or delivery of at  least 3 Esthetic cases with all-ceramic crowns, veneers or CAD-CAM fabricated restorations (may include implant restorations).
  • Demonstrate superior quality of laboratory work measured through extensive wax-ups of at least 3 Esthetic cases with all-ceramic crowns or rehabilitation.
