After logging in, OU Campus Users can access a page's edit functions via two ways: Direct edit or navigation through the folder structure.
Click the edit button. If your page has multiple edit regions (i.e., a highlight box), there will be multiple edit buttons.
Note: Clicking the edit button will "check out" the page.
To access the page properties and other functions, click the lightbulb to check the page out.
The page actions toolbar will then display more options.
To open the split-screen view, first click the split-screen button.
Using this button allows you to navigate between
full view of the page and the folder structure.
If you are already in the folder structure view, you may navigate through directories of the website. To edit a page and/or its properties, click the .pcf file you would like to edit. You may also click the lightbulb icon to "check out" the page, which will provide more page functions within the folder structure view.
The string at the top of the page lets you know which page you are editing.
In the File-Actions Panel, pictured above, click the “Edit” button. If the page is not checked out to you, it will be checked out and you will enter the “Edit View” pictured below. All the editable regions have been marked with buttons.
To edit the main content area, click the green edit button below the page heading. This will open a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. WYSIWYG editors allow you to add, delete, or modify content without having to know any HTML. The editor will be similar to most word processing software and have some of the same options, with a few additional.
A few important buttons are:
Once you have completed your edits, click the Save button to return to the page preview screen. If you wish to return to the folder structure view without saving your work, click the split-screen button in the upper left-hand corner. Don't forget to "check in" the page if your work is complete.
