Unit Leader - Deans, VPs, Chiefs of Staff, Senior Directors, or other designated/appointed
Unit Leader’s responsibilities include:
Driving Unit-specific content strategy (positioning, messaging, tone and voice, etc.).
Designating Content Owners, and approving recommended Content Contributors and Content
Editors, for the Unit.
Collaborating with the Unit’s designated DCM Web and Content Specialists (liaisons).
Maintaining the accuracy and quality of Unit content.
Enforcing Unit’s adherence to any University-wide and Unit-specific Rules.
Escalating issues, challenges and ideas that stretch beyond the Unit Leader’s capacity
to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing, who will work with the Unit
Leader to determine whether a Special Work Group should be convened.
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Capacity for strategic decision-making
Understanding for how Unit fits within and supports the greater University-wide strategic
vision and direction
Authority to establish and enforce Unit-specific direction and policies
Strong sense of empathy both for Unit-specific role players and for University’s Central
Web Management and Oversight groups.
