Augusta University is proud to host a wide variety of annual conferences, symposiums, and summits throughout the year that are open and accessible to our community.
Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening.
The Cyber Georgia Summit brings together industry, academia, and government to build and strengthen the cyber workforce in the state of Georgia and across the Nation. Cyber Georgia will examine global cyber threats and discuss how to better prepare for a cyberattack or denial of service in the hospital and public health arena.
This annual symposium includes an introduction to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders. There is also a review of current research as well as a review of treatments and medications.
The Sand Hills Writers Series provides a unique opportunity for both reader and writer to meet. Literature comes alive when it comes from the author’s mouth and this conference allows participants to network with the writers. The writers come to campus and the readers hear their words in a whole new way. It deepens the reading experience.
Writers Weekend is Augusta University’s annual spring creative writing conference. Visiting writers will offer readings and a variety craft talks–all free and open to the public.
This conference will explore some of the many issues related to the intersection of gender and sexuality with other identities, such as race, immigration status, religion and others We intend to open a dialogue on gender issues, including the #MeToo movement, and immigration, with its many ports and doors into the US, both historically and more recently.
This conference will help students gain a better understanding of health profession school, with emphasis on medical school. The conference provides interactive workshops and simulations designed to hone participants’ skills and preparation that are necessary for successful admission and matriculation.
