Prevent and Protect Oral Health for a Lifetime – Tanya Riffe, RDH, BHS
This program will provide the participant with an overview of caries development, the incidence and prevalence of dental decay in various populations, and the role of in-office and home fluoride therapies in the management of patients at risk.
An Evidence Based Approach to Two Prevalent Patient Issues: Gingivitis and Periodontal
Disease – Tanya Riffe, RDH, BHS
This course will provide the clinician with an understanding of the periodontal disease process and the impact of inflammation on oral and systemic diseases. It will provide the information necessary to make professional decisions in the process of dental hygiene care which are based on current concepts of periodontal care, published research, and clinical experiences.
Developments in Infection Control, “Because You Can’t See Sterile” – Julie Walker,
The adage, “what you can’t see won’t hurt you” can have disastrous consequences related to infection prevention. The course will review the basic premise of instrument management through the entire handling, cleaning, sterilization, monitoring, and storage cycle. Hands-on activities will be included.
Tanya Riffe, RDH, BHS, Colgate Academic Relations Manager for the Southern Region.
Tanya has spent the majority of her career in providing dental hygiene services in private practices, hospital dentistry, prosthodontics, and most recently, in Head & Neck Cancer treatment. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the ADHA and has also served a six year term on the South Carolina State Board of Dentistry.
Julie Walker, CDA, RDH, Southeast Regional Manager for Crosstex.
Julie has 18 Years’ experience within the dental field which includes private practice, education, curriculum development and management.
Ana Thompson, RDH, MHE, Associate Professor at Augusta University, Colleges of Allied Health Sciences and Dental Medicine. She is Program Director and Chair of the Department of Dental Hygiene. Her teaching areas include dental anatomy, radiology, research design, and clinic. She teaches Spanish to both Augusta University dental students and participants of many of the continuing education courses for dental professionals.

Registration fee, less a $20 administrative fee, is refundable if notice of cancellation is received by April 10, 2015. Attendance is limited. Please register early. Registrations are accepted in the order received.

The instructional time of the morning course is 5.0 hours. Attendance for the entire program is approved by the Augusta University for .5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). Registration for the entire morning program is required to receive CEU. Florida License Continuing Education Credit
