We asked a few of our alumni about their experiences in the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences:

Why did you choose Augusta University and the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences? guy in cap and gown

"I chose Augusta University because I saw it as a great opportunity to improve my experience in working with computers, but also of the prestige it brought."

If you could give a shoutout to one of our faculty who made a difference in your education, who would it be and why?

"A few different ones. Professor Ron Martin, Dr. Nowatkowski, Dr. Paul York, Dr. Schultz, Dr. Ezenwoye and my advisor, Markus Bacha. These individuals each played a unique role in my overall mentorship throughout my time at AU. Without their teaching and guidance, I do not believe I would be where I am today in my career."

What's one of your favorite memories as an Augusta University student? student dressed up as a superhero

"Participating in the spirit week’s Mascot contest for the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. It was incredibly fun to parade around Christenberry Fieldhouse with a cape, mask, and a super-powered MAC laptop!"

Any advice you would give to incoming School of Computer and Cyber Sciences students?

boy smiling "The classes that provide guides for procedures and processes do so for a reason, do not just do the assignment and be done- follow the guide and actually understand how to use tools and programs. In the work environment, there is always one form of reading documentation or another- you might even be the one who creates it. Lastly, seek internships, create a home lab, and do not be afraid to ask people for help mapping out your career- always have a goal in mind!"
