Health Sciences Leadership Program

Fellowship Overview

The Augusta University College of Allied Health Sciences Health Sciences Leadership Program began in 2012 to offer developmental opportunities that prepare faculty members for leadership responsibilities. It supports faculty with the desire and potential to take on leadership roles. Participants are paired with a mentor to learn and demonstrate leadership qualities over the course of an academic year. Completion of the program is recognized at the CAHS Fall Faculty Assembly.

Required Activities

  • Regular attendance at CAHS Dean’s Roundtable on Education meetings
  • Have a leadership mentor for training and observation (someone in a current leadership role)
  • Develop one or more college-wide initiatives (Special Project)
  • Attend leadership workshops in collaboration with the College of Education
  • Take part in professional development opportunities through Augusta University Workforce Development

Candidates may be nominated by their Department Chair or self-nominated with the Chair's approval. Nominations are accepted by the Program Coordinator in the fall of each academic year. Fellowships are limited to two or three annually. The Dean has final approval of all HSLP fellows.
