Where Undergraduates Begin

The Academic Advisement Center at Augusta University primarily serves the following student populations:

  • Dual Enrollment Students
  • First and Second Year Students (0-59 credit hours)
  • Transfer Students (0-59 credit hours)
  • Pre-Admit Programs (i.e. Pre-Social Work, Allied Health Programs, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Education, etc.)
  • Audit Students


  • Generally, students transition to their major department upon earning 60 credit hours.
  • If a student transfers to Augusta University with 60+ credit hours, the student will be advised by their major department.
  • Post-Baccalaureate and Graduate Students are also advised by their major department.
  • Prospective students can communicate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding interest in the university and degrees offered at Augusta University.
