Tau Sigma Honor Society Induction

The mission of Tau Sigma is to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students.

Transfer students are eligible to join if:

  • They have at least one full year of credit at another institution
  • They earn 3.5 or above in their first semester at Augusta University

Eligible students will be invited to join during spring semester of each academic year. Tau Sigma organizes transfer student events in partnership with the Academic Success Center.

Academic Success Workshops

Some transfer students discover that they need to hone their skills in time management, studying, test taking, writing papers, and other topics. The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers workshops on a variety of topics throughout each semester. View the workshop schedule

Academic Success Consultations

Consultations are an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Academic Success Coordinator Amanda Gustafson. Amanda can help you identify your goals and put together a success plan that is unique to your particular needs. Coordinators know the resources available and can help make connections that might otherwise be different from transfer student’s previous schools. To schedule a meeting, email in Academic Success Center.

Tutoring is available at the Academic Success Center for a wide range of subjects. The schedule is posted online each semester. If you do not see your class, call the center. Some upper division tutoring is available upon request. There is also tutoring at the Math Assistance Center (MAC), Writing Center, and Chemistry and Physics.

Transfer students are advised in one of two places. If you have earned less than 60 credit hours you are advised in Academic Advisement. Pre-majors and undeclared students, regardless of hours earned, are also advised in Academic Advisement.

If you have 60 or more credit hours you are advised in your home Academic Department. You will need to contact your Academic Department to determine who your advisor is within that department. If you have more than 60 hours and need assistance in determining or contacting your advisor please email Abigail M. Drescher, Student Retention Manager, at
