Topic:
Persuade Someone To Quit Tobacco (any form)

Purpose:
The purpose of the SMILE Competition was  to engage Augusta University students and employees in the Tobacco-Free Campus Initiative and to creatively increase awareness about the effects of tobacco use.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Original work
  • Current Augusta University Student – full or part-time Spring 2014
  • Current full-time or part-time Augusta University (Enterprise) employee

Format:
Three levels of format entries. Video must be 2 minutes or less.

  • Short Format PSA - 30 seconds or less
  • Short Format - 31-60 seconds
  • Long Format - 61-120 seconds  

8 Categories:
Entries can win in multiple categories

  • Technical Merit                 
  • Audience Favorite through on-line voting
  • Best representation of the theme
  • Best Collaboration between two disciplines
  • Health Message
  • Cinematography
  • Most Creative
  • Best Sound Track

No Limit

  • You can submit multiple video entries.
  • Produce your video(s) as an individual or as a group.
  • Student clubs and university or health system departments are encouraged to compete.

The Augusta University Educational & Collaborative Technology Center has equipment and services that make it easier to produce your SMILE Video:

  • Multimedia Lab – computer workstations for individuals and groups
  • Video Production – editing and production help
  • Checkout Equipment – digital cameras and camcorders, voice recorders
  • Technical Illustration Services – design and create multi-media materials including graphics

Sound recordings and images incorporated into your video should be your original works or in the public domain. Remember copyrighted materials like sound recordings, music, graphics, and still or video images cannot be used without permissions or through licensing agreements.
