Have plans to travel abroad?

The Student Health clinic offers travel consultation services to students who are planning to travel abroad (outside the country). Student Health travel consultations are based on the current CDC recommendations and include general health risks, methods of prevention, vaccinations and medications. Student Health has some vaccinations available; however, others can be obtained through a local pharmacy or the health department. Additionally, our providers will offer information during the consultation concerning medical precautions, travel safety and tips on accessing emergency medical care.

Travel consultations must be scheduled in advance and cannot be done on a walk-in basis. Students who need a travel consultation are encouraged to schedule as early as possible or at least 4-6 weeks prior to your travel date to ensure the timeliness of pre-travel prophylactic drugs and immunizations. Please complete the travel questionnaire and bring it to your travel consultation.

If you are insured under the Augusta University Student Health Insurance plan (UHC) and are planning to travel abroad, this plan includes a travel insurance benefit. If you have private insurance (not insured by the Student Insurance Health Plan) you can go to the link below to access the enrollment form from United Health Care. Coverage for those not insured by the Student Insurance Health Plan is offered at a cost of $55 per year, through United Health Care.
