Augusta University Student Health Clinic
Our committed staff delivers high quality and cost effective medical care to all Augusta University students, and maintains strict patient confidentiality. We are committed to a high standard of professionalism and excellence in service. We are staffed by Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and a friendly, student-oriented support staff.

Minor Procedures- We perform a variety of minor procedures at SHS, including biopsy, cryosurgery, laceration repair, excisions, steroid injections, jet nebulizer treatments and IUD insertions.
Laboratory services- We provide many laboratory services in- house and others through our contracted laboratory. If you are insured with the Augusta University Student Health Insurance plan, we can bill the plan on your behalf for the laboratory services. If you are on a private insurance plan, we can send your specimens to our contracted laboratory or another laboratory that your insurance plan may require. If the lab ordered cannot be obtained in our clinic, we have a contracted laboratory very close to the Augusta University campus. Once you have been accepted into a program at Augusta University, you are eligible to have titers drawn at Augusta University Student Health prior to your enrollment date to assist you in meeting the Augusta University immunization requirements. No appointment is required.
Diagnostic Testing- In addition to our laboratory services, we also perform diagnostic testing to include EKG, pulmonary function, pulse oximetry, visual acuity, peak flow and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Physical Therapy- Physical therapy services are now available at our location. These services are ordered after an evaluation by one of the medical providers.
Immunizations- Immunizations (TD, Tdap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, MMR, Meningitis, Varivax and HPV) are available at Augusta University Student Health. Once you have been accepted into a program at Augusta University, you are eligible to receive immunizations at Student Health prior to your enrollment date to assist you in meeting the Augusta University immunization requirements. No appointment is required.
TB testing (PPD) -Performed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. Once you have been accepted into a program at Augusta University, you are eligible to have your PPD placed and read at Augusta University Student Health prior to your enrollment date to assist you in meeting the Augusta University immunization requirements. No appointment required.
Travel Consults- We offer travel health information and appropriate vaccinations to students. Our Providers give consultations offering CDC recommended immunizations, medical precautions, travel safety and tips on accessing emergency medical care.
- SHS does not provide radiology services. Referrals for xrays will be made to the facility chosen by the student and/ or required by the student's insurance policy.
- Specialty clinics and specialty tests are also referred, at the discretion of the physician in clinic. We do have physicians who specialize in sport's medicine, women’s health and psychiatry.
- Routine eye exams are not done in SHS. We perform vision screening only. An appointment may be made with the Augusta University Eye Clinic by calling 706-721-2020, or at any Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
In the event of an emergency, please call 911 or go to the closest Emergency Room.
If you have a blood or body fluid exposure or other emergent condition, report directly to an emergency room.
If you are covered by the Augusta University student insurance plan and the Student Health clinic is closed, you do not need a referral to be seen by an outside provider. You will be responsible for any uncovered expenses (the deductible and 20% co-insurance). Make sure your provider is in-network to maximize the reimbursement from the insurance company. Please note urgent care centers typically charge less than an emergency room.
