Requirements for a Minor in Chemistry

In order to earn a minor in chemistry, you must take at least 24 semester hours in chemistry. These 23 hours must include the introductory sequence CHEM 1211 and 1212 (8 hours total), CHEM 2810 (Quantitative Analysis, 5 hours), CHEM 3411 (Organic Chemistry I, 4 hours) and an additional 7-8 hours chosen from the following chemistry curriculum courses:

  • CHEM 4840 (Instrumental Analysis)
  • CHEM 4950 (Selected Topics)
  • CHEM 4990 (Undergraduate Research, limit 3 hours towards minor)
