MMF Salt Study

Study Description: The purpose of the this study is to look at how a medication, mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), which is an immunosuppressant, effects sodium excretion and blood pressure following a mental stressor. MMF is a drug that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is designed to stop/reduce inflammation specifically for organ donor recipients. When we hear the word inflammation, we usually think of redness or swelling. However, stress also causes inflammation. This study is to determine if stopping the stress induced increase in inflammation will prevent sodium retention.
