Stolen Vehicle w/ Recovery / 08-16-2017 
On 08/16/2017, at 3:37 AM, Augusta University Police responded to Anderson Avenue and Magnolia Lane in reference to stolen golf cart, and met with Richmond County Deputies, who stopped the vehicle, but the driver fled the scene.  Investigation revealed that AU Golf Cart 447 was taken from parking lot #11 of the Augusta University Health Sciences Campus.  The vehicle was processed, recovered and returned to campus.  No arrest have been made, investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 08-14-2017 
On 08/14/2017, at 7:00 PM, Augusta University Police met with a complainant in reference to a stolen golf cart.  The complainant stated he parked the vehicle on 08/11/17, in Parking Lot #11 charging station, at 3:00 PM.  On 08/12/17, at 9:00 AM the complainant notice the golf cart missing.  A check of the area was negative.  The golf cart is described as a white 2016 EzGo, with blue lettering.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle w/ Recovery / 08-14-2017 
On 08/14/2017, at 10:14 AM, Augusta University Police met with a complainant in reference to a stolen golf cart.  The complainant stated she parked the vehicle on 08/11/17, in Parking Deck #8 on the first level.  She discovered the vehicle missing on 08/14/17.  Richmond County Sheriff’s Office notified Augusta University Police they had found the missing golf cart off campus on the 1400 block of Cooney Circle.  Officers observed the vehicle was missing several parts.  The vehicle was recovered and returned to campus.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 08-13-2017 
On 08/13/2017, at 10:00 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Sanders Research and Education Building (CB) in reference to a stolen golf cart number 537.  Officer made contact with the complainant who stated the vehicle was parked on the south side of the CB Building on 08/12/17, at 4:30 PM, and was discovered missing on 08/13/17, at 7:00 AM.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 08/03/2017
On 08/03/2017, at 5:04 PM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to the University Village Complete, Bldg 4000.  Officer made contact with the RLC on duty in reference to the smell of Marijuana coming from room 4206.  Contact was made with a male AU Student inside the apartment, who was not the resident, he contact the resident of the room.  The resident, a female AU Student, responded to the room and gave consent to search the area.  A small bag of was appeared to be Marijuana was found on the living room floor, tested positive and taken as evidence.  The female AU Student claimed ownership of the Marijuana and was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana.  The male AU Student was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for the University Village Complex.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 07-28-2017
On 07/28/2017, at 5:01 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center in reference to missing narcotics (Fentanyl) from Surgical ICU.  A potential suspect was identified and questioned by Hospital Staff.  The suspect stated she did take the missing narcotics earlier in the day.  Hospital Staff informed Augusta University Police they did not wish to prosecute at this time.  The missing narcotics (Fentanyl) was turned over to the Hospital Pharmacy. The subject, an AUMC employee, resigned her position at AUMC, and was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning.  No other action was taken by AUPD.

Burglary / 07-25-2017
On 07/25/2017, at 11:05 AM, Augusta University Police Investigator interviewed an Augusta University Student, who reported that his University Village apartment had been entered and his vehicle key had been on 07/16/2017, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  The victim believes that his cousin took the keys and used his truck, without his permission, then the cousin returned them to the same location the victim left them.  The victim also stated that he did not wish to prosecute at this time.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Burglary / 07-20-2017
On 07/20/2017, at 8:20 PM, Augusta University Police responded to University Village Apartment 2105 in reference to a theft.  The victims (Augusta University Students) stated between 07/15/17, 7:00 AM and 07/20/17, 7:00 PM, person(s) unknown entered the apartment through a window and took several personal items.  It was also noted that during the victim’s absence person(s) unknown used her JagCard.  One for the victims stated that he had left the apartment window unlocked.  This burglary is currently under investigation.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 07-18-2017
On 07/18/2017, at 1:56 AM, Augusta University Police responded the Dental College of Georgia in reference to a stolen vehicle.  The victim stated that he discovered his silver 2011 Chevrolet Malibu missing at 1:30 AM.  The vehicle was parked on Spellman Lane, on the west side of the Dental College of Georgia.  A check to locate the vehicle meet with negative results.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Sexual Battery (Fondling) / 07-03-2017 
On 07/04/2017, at 10:30 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center in reference to a Sexual Battery that occurred on 07/03/2017, in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).  The victim stated that a unknown male nurse fondled her breasts while she was in the PACU waiting to return to her room.  This case is currently under investigation, no arrest has been made. Burglary / 07-02-2017
On 07/02/2017, at 11:50 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Forest Hills Golf Club in reference to a security alarm.  Officers found the back entrance door’s glass panels had been broken out.  Officers entered the building and found the office door had been kicked in.  No subject(s) were located inside the building.  Contact was made with the on call person for the Golf Club, who responded and stated nothing appeared to be missing.  This burglary is currently under investigation, no arrest(s) have been made.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Burglary / 06-29-2017 
On 06/29/2017, at 7:06 PM, Augusta University Police responded to University Village Apartment 2207, Room B, in reference to a theft.  Contact was made with the victim who state that an unknown person(s) forcible entered his apartment bedroom taking several personal items during his absence.  This burglary is currently under investigation, no arrest has been made.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 06-25-2017
On 06/25/2017, at 12:00 AM, Augusta University Police made contact with the driver of a vehicle parked at the Clay Street Warehouse.  A check was conducted and found that the driver had no driver’s license.  A search of vehicle was conducted and found a small amount of a green leafy substance located under the driver’s seat.  The substance tested positive for marijuana and was taken as evidence.  The driver was issued a criminal trespass warning and a citation for possession of marijuana, then released.  The vehicle was towed.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 06-18-2017
On 06/18/2017, at 5:45 PM, Augusta University Police responded the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, room 5903, in reference to a stolen vehicle.  The victim stated that his black 1985 Pontiac was parked on the second level of the Parking Deck 21, and that he discovered it missing at approximately 5:15 PM.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Sexual Battery (Fondling) / 06-13-2017
On 06/13/2017, at 7:04 AM, Augusta University Police took a report from the victim of a Sexual Battery that occurred on 04/19/2017, in the Cancer Treatment Center (AN).  The male victim states that a male subject (a co-worker) called him to the restroom and then touch his genitals through his pants.  The victim stated he made a report with the AU Health Employee Relations Office, and now wishes to make a police report.  No arrest has been made.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle with Recovery / 06-09-2017
On 06/09/2017, at 3:45 PM, Augusta University Police responded to a report of a stolen ambulance from the AU Medical Center Ambulance Bay.  Officers discovered that a released patient from EMS had taken the Gold Cross Ambulance #30.  Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the stolen vehicle and a deputy stopped the vehicle after a brief pursuit on I-20 at Wheeler Road.  The subject was taken into custody and booked in the Richmond County Jail on traffic changes and theft by taking motor vehicle.  The undamaged ambulance, was processed and turned over to the owner.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 06-05-2017
On 06/05/2017, at 2:22 AM, Augusta University Police stopped a subject riding a yellow bicycle on RA Dent Blvd adjacent to Parking Deck 8, for riding in the roadway with no lights.  The subject was checked and found to be wanted by Tift County, but the county would not extradite.  A search of the subject found a small amount of a green leafy substance in his front right pocket.  The substance tested positive for Marijuana, and was taken for evidence.  The subject was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana Under 1 Ounce and released.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stalking / 05-30-2017

On 05/30/2017, at 5:03 PM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to Children’s Hospital of Georgia in reference to an unknown incident.  Contact was made with a female victim, who stated when she opened the rear door of her vehicle, she discovered her husband seating in the back seat directly behind the driver’s seat.  The victim screamed and ran back to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia to find help, because she was being chased by her husband.  She was able to get inside a secured door and the male subject fled the scene.  Two warrants were obtained for Stalking and Terroristic Threats and Acts, but no arrest was been.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 05-19-2017

On 05/19/2017, at 1:15 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center Emergency Room in reference to a female subject that had a controlled substance in her possession.  Officer found in her belongings a glass pipe and two baggies of Crystal Methamphetamine.  The substance tested positive for Methamphetamine, and taken as evidence.  The subject was not arrested due to her medical condition.  Officer obtained an Arrest Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine, to be served at a later date.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 04-29-2017

On 04/29/2017, at 5:55 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University’s University Village room 3304 in reference to a smell of marijuana.  Contact was made with two females in the residence who gave permission for officers to enter the room.  During a check of the residence in the bathroom officers discovered a small about of a green leafy substance in plain view on the counter, along with a grinder and a weight scale.  Under the counter a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance was found, that tested positive for marijuana.  It was discovered that neither of the females in the room were residents of the room.  Subject identified as BROWN, Kendra, was issued Richmond Country citation for possession of marijuana.  Both females were issued Criminal Trespass Warnings and escorted off campus.  The marijuana and grinder were taken as evidence.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Simple Battery (Domestic Violence) / 04-24-2017

On 04/24/2017, at 7:42 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center EMS room P-2, in reference to a domestic incident.  The victim stated the father of her child became upset about a cell phone conversation the victim was having with a third party.  The male subject hit the victim twice, took her cell phone and keys then fled the scene.  Officers took statements from the victim and witnesses, and processed warrants for Theft by Taking and Simple Battery.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 04-21-2017

On 04/21/2017, at 1:00 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Digestive Health Center room AD-2260 in reference to a theft.  The victim stated that a female call her prior to her appointment telling her to bring all of her medications.  A female contacted the victim after her appointment in the first floor lobby, requesting to check the victim’s medication.  It was observed that the female while checking the medication put it in her hand then in her shoe.  The female was confronted by staff and 20 Clonazepam, 32 Tramadol, and 1 Hydrocodone were found in her shoe.  Officers detained the female subject, was read her rights, and told Officers she took 4 or 5 Clonazepam from the victim medication bottle.  The subject was arrested, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Obtaining Controlled Substance by Theft and Possession of Controlled Substance.  The subject was identified as an Augusta University Medical Center employee.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Simple Battery (Domestic Violence) / 04-03-2017

On 04/03/2017, at 7:00 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia room 4292, in reference to a domestic incident.  The victim stated that the father of her child became upset, they got into an argument and he slapped her on the right cheek.  The male subject had departed the area prior to the Officer arrival.  The victim was advised of the warrant process and she completed a statement.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 04-02-2017

On 04/02/2017, at 8:32 AM, Augusta University Police made contact with the driver of a 1999 Honda CR-V parked on Goss Lane at the intersection of RA Dent Blvd.  Officer observed the both tires on the passenger side of the vehicle were flat and that the driver was very nervous and crying.  The driver stated the vehicle struck the curb and that what caused the tires to go flat.  It was also noted by the officer a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  A search of the driver found the following items on his person:  a Marijuana pipe, a Methamphetamine pipe, (4) Methamphetamine pills; (4) small clear plastic baggies containing, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Alprazolam and Lorazepam.  The drugs tested positive and were taken as evidence.  The driver was arrested, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Alprazolam, and Possession of Lorazepam.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 03-02-2017

On 03/02/2017, at 8:45 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the AU Wellness Center in reference to a stolen Club Car Golf Cart.  The victim stated the golf cart is green and tan in color and was last seen on 02/13/2017, in the CP parking deck.  Attempts to locate the golf cart meet with negative results.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 02-27-2017

On 02/27/2017, at 12:07 AM, Augusta University Police stopped a red Pontiac at 15th Street and Central Avenue for running a red light.  Officer made contact with the driver and detected the order of Marijuana from inside the vehicle.  A search was conducted and found a partially smoked Marijuana cigarette in the center console.  The substance tested positive for Marijuana, and was taken as evidence.  The driver was taken into custody and process.  The subject was booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device; Driving While License Cancelled; and Possession of Marijuana.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stalking / AU College of Nursing Athens (Off-Campus) / 02-24-2017

On 02/25/217, at 1:40 PM, Augusta University Police Records Section was notified by Athens-Clarke County Police by Crime Report email of a stalking incident that occurred in the parking lot adjacent to the AU College of Nursing Athens.  The incident occurred on 02/24/2017, at 4:15 in the parking lot of the Green Acres Shopping Center in front of DE Palma’s Restaurant.  As the victim was leaving DE Palma’s the subject confronted her and the children.  The victim was afraid for her and the children’s safety and returned inside DE Palma’s and called the police.  The victim stated that she had divorced the subject and he had been following her around town threating her.  Athens-Clarke County Police instructed the victim on how to obtain a TPO.  No arrest was made at the time of this report.  The victim nor the subject are affiliated with Augusta University College of Nursing Athens.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Drug Violation / 02-09-2017

On 02/09/2017, at 9:17 AM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to the AU Medical Center in reference to a theft of a chair from a waiting room.  The subject was identified and instructed to return the chair.  Officers made contact with the subject at the north entrance to AMUC.  The subject was arrested for theft.  A search of the subject discovered a green leafy substance in a plastic bag in the subject’s front right pants pocket, which tested positive for marijuana.  The subject was processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Criminal Trespass, Theft by Taking and Possession of Marijuana.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 01-28-2017

On 01/28/2017, at 10:29 AM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to the front entrance outside the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in reference to a fight.  Officers made contact with the two subjects, who stated they had a verbal argument.  It was discovered that one of the subjects had an active warrant from Richmond County and was placed under arrest.  A search of the subject found a small amount of a substance believed to be marijuana in their pants pocket.  The substance tested positive for marijuana and was taken as evidence.  The subject was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail.  The other subject was released.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stalking / 01-23-2017

On 01/23/2017, at 1:15 PM, Augusta University Police took a report in reference to a complaint of stalking that occurred in Oak Hall on the Health Sciences Campus.  The victim, a female AU student, stated that her ex-boyfriend, not a AU student, knocked on her dorm room door, she answered and he stated wanted to talk.  The victim advised the subject that she had to leave to go to class, she left the apartment and the subject follow her through the building yelling at her.  The victim left the building, the subject follow her and placed his arms around her at which time the victim pushed the subject away.  While the victim was getting into her vehicle the subject stepped into the path of the door blocking her from closing it.  The subject would not move away from the door, at that point the victim used a stun devise on the subject and he moved to the front of her vehicle to block her from leaving.  The subject did not allow her to leave until the victim threatened to call the police.  The subject followed the victim to the Summerville Campus pulling in behind her, walking up to the window trying to talk with her.  When the subject moved his vehicle the victim drove to Augusta University Police Headquarters and notified police.  The victim was instructed on the process for obtaining a restraining order.  This case is currently under investigation.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 01-17-2017

On 01/17/2017, at 4:40 PM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to Oak Hall to meet with the Resident Advisor (RA) in reference to the odor of marijuana on the 4th floor the student residence dormitory.  Officers discovered the odor emitting form Apartment 4006.  Contact as made with the resident of Room A inside the apartment.  Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed a small baggy containing a green leafy substance on a dresser.  The Augusta University student was questioned and stated he was smoking marijuana inside his dormitory room.  The substance was taken as evidence and tested positive for marijuana.  The AU student was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and released.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle w/ Recovery / 01-17-2017

On 01/17/2017, at 11:22 AM, Augusta University Police was notified of a missing Club Car Golf Cart #700 that was parked behind the AU Sanders Research and Education Building.  At 12:23 PM, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office notified AUPD that the missing Golf Cart had been found at the Augusta Mart gas station on Martin Luther King Blvd and 12th Street.  The vehicle was processed and recovered.  No arrest have been made, investigation is on-going.   Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Rape / 12-11-2016

On 12/11/2016, at 7:38 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the University Village Apartment Complex in reference to a rape complainant involving a Augusta University student.  Officers spoke with the female student victim and then she was transported AU Medical Center for medical treatment.  The male subject is not a student at Augusta University.  Investigation into this incident is ongoing and no arrest has been made.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stalking / 12-05-2016

On 12/05/2016, at 8:17 PM, Augusta University Police were notified of harassing telecommunications by a female University employee.  The complainant stated that she had informed a male subject that she was no longer interested in pursuing a personal relationship. The male subject then began emailing her boss and other University administrators trying to get her fired.  The male subject is not affiliated with Augusta University.  Augusta University Police made contact with the male subject an instructed him not to make contact with the complainant and stop his harassing telecommunications, or criminal charges would be filed.  This case is currently under investigation.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 11-23-2016

On 11/23/2016, at 1:42 AM, Augusta University Police observed a vehicle parked in the Wrightsboro Plaza parking lot at 3116 Wrightsboro Road.  The officer approach the vehicle and detected a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle, making contact with 2 occupants.  The female driver (AU student) and the male passenger were questioned.  Officers found Marijuana in the vehicle’s ashtray and a small amount on the passenger.  The Marijuana was taken as evidence and tested positive.  The driver and passenger were issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana.  The passenger was also issued a Criminal Trespass Warning banning him from the University Village Apartment Complex.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Simple Battery (Domestic Violence) / 11-07-2016

On 11/07/2016, at 9:41 PM, Augusta University Police responded to Children’s Hospital of Georgia room 5926, in reference to a domestic incident.  The victim stated that the father of her child became upset, he threw candy around the room and kicked her in the right leg.  The male subject had departed the area prior to Officers arrival.  The victim was advised of the warrant process and she completed a statement. Stolen Vehicle / 10-31-16

On 10/31/2016, at 3:45 PM, Augusta University Police were dispatched to Parking Lot 24, located at 821 St. Sebastian Way, in reference to a stolen vehicle.  Officers spoke with the victim who stated she parked her silver Acura sedan at approximately 8:05 AM and discovered the vehicle missing at 3:10 PM.  The stolen vehicle was entered into GCIC and local law enforcement notified of the incident. Drug Violation / 10-23-2016

On 10/23/2016, at 2:22 AM, Augusta University Police conducted a traffic stop on Laney Walker Blvd at 15th Street on a silver Suzuki for not having the vehicle’s headlights on.  Officer detected the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.  A search found a small amount of marijuana in the driver’s jacket and a marijuana cigarette next to the driver’s seat.  The found substance tested positive for marijuana.  The driver was issued three citations; Driving without Headlights, Driving Unlicensed, and Possession of Marijuana Under One Ounce.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Burglary (2) / 10-23-2016
On 10/23/2016, at 4:52 PM, Augusta University Police responded to University Village Apartment 4102, Room C and D, in reference to a theft.  Officers made contact with the two victims who stated that an unknown person(s) entered their room and took several items.  The officers observed the front door to the resident been damaged making the door hard to lock.  The victims stated the door had been malfunctioning for a month.  Investigation into this incident is ongoing.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 10-11-2016

On 10/11/2016 at 11:05 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Health Sciences Campus Oak Hall in reference to the smell of marijuana on the 3rd floor. With the permission of the occupant, the responding officer conducted a search of the room from where the smell was emanating and found a small plastic jar containing a green leafy substance which tested positive for marijuana. The substance was taken as evidence. Additional searching revealed several bongs and other smoking paraphernalia throughout the room. The room occupant was taken into custody, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of Possession of Marijuana. Drug Violation / 10-05-2016

On 10/05/2016 at 0805 hours, Augusta University Police responded to a suspicious person asleep in a white four door Pontiac Grand Prix parked in Augusta University Health Science Campus Parking Lot 69. When walking up to the vehicle, Officer observed a white male sleeping in the driver seat and in the center console observed a knife sitting next to an upright burnt glass pipe with substance inside. Driver was groggy and slow to wake and was asked to exit the vehicle for officer safety after repeatedly reaching for the center console where one of three knives was located. The white in color substance inside the glass pipe and the additional white in color rock-like substance tested positive for Cocaine. The driver was processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges: Possession of Crack Cocaine. Sexual Battery (Fondling) / 09-22-2016

On 09/26/2016, at 11:37 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center room 7633 (BA) in reference to a sexual battery.  Officer made contact with the victim who stated that on 09/22/2016 she was being transported back to her room from a test when she was inappropriately touched by a male hospital employee.  The victim stated the male subject then transported her back to her room and removed the sheet covering her and made inappropriate comments.  The male subject has been identified, investigation is ongoing, and no arrest have been made.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Simple Battery (Domestic Violence) / 09-20-2016

On 09/20/2016, at 5:14 PM, Augusta University Police responded to Dental College of Georgia (GC) main lobby in reference to a domestic incident.  Officer made contact with the victim who state that her ex-boyfriend had followed to work, then followed her inside the building at 7:50 AM.  The male subject grabbed both her hands, she snatch away and told the subject to leave, which he did.  The subject was not on campus at the time the incident was reported.  AU Police notified the subject by telephone instructing him not have contact with the victim and not to return to campus, if he did he would be arrested for Criminal Trespass.  No arrest has been make in this case.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 09-20-2016

On 09/20/2016, at 10:59 PM, Augusta University Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Pontiac Grand Prix on RA Dent Blvd. without headlights.  Officer made contact with the driver detected the odor of marijuana emitting form the vehicle.  The officer conducted a search of the vehicle and found a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance which tested positive for marijuana.  The substance was taken as evidence.  The driver was issued two citations for No Headlights and Possession of Marijuana Under an Ounce.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stalking / 09-13-2016

On 09/13/2016, at 10:57 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Summerville Campus Public Safety Office in reference to stalking.  The victim stated that a subject she had dated in 2014, had tried to make contact with her through social media.  The subject was now in her class and had followed her to the JSAC.  The victim also stated the subject had parked his car in the same lot she parked in.  The victim informed the officer that she feels she in danger from the subject. Domestic Violence / 08-24-2016

On 08/24/2016, at 12:16 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center room 7271 in reference to an altercation.  Officers made contact the victim and subject.  The female victim stated the male subject became upset over the death of their new born, and that the subject threw the victim’s phones on the floor shattering them, then the subject struck her on the left side of her face with a closed fist.  The subject admitted to shattering the phones, but stated he did not his hit the victim.  The officers could not detect any evidence that the victim had been struck.  Subject was check through GCIC which revealed at outstanding warrants issued by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, for Criminal Trespass and Battery – Family Violence.  The subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warring, processed and booked in the Richmond County Jail.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Armed Robbery / 08-12-2016

On 08/12/2016, at 8:17 PM, Augusta University Police responded to Fleming Avenue and Mount Auburn Street to meet with Richmond County Deputies in reference to an armed robbery.  Officers made contact with the victim who stated he met the subject on FaceBook in reference to selling shoes.  The subject instructed the subject to meet him at the Augusta University Summerville Campus Fountain to make the exchange.  The victim was approached by two subjects.  One subject pulled out a handgun and instructed the victim to open the car trunk then the subjects took the shoes and ran north on Fleming Avenue.  A search of the area met with negative results.  The items taken were two pairs of shoes value at $400.00.  No arrest has been and the investigation of this incident is ongoing.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle w/ Recover / 08-07-2016

Simple Battery (Domestic Violence) / 07-21-2016

On 07/21/2016, at 12:45 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Cancer Treatment Center Parking Deck (AM) in reference to a possible domestic dispute.  Contact was made with the victim, who stated that the suspect, her husband, prevented her from getting into her vehicle and then pushed her with his body.  When the victim tried to walk away the suspect then grabbed her and pulled her back.  The victim stated that she tried to call 911, but the suspect took her phone and smashed it to the ground causing it shatter so she could not call the police.  Contact was made with the suspect on scene.  The suspect was taken into custody, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the follow charges:  Simple Battery (Family Violence) and Hindering a 911 Phone Call.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Aggravated Stalking / 07-12-2016

On 07/12/2016 at 2:00 PM, Augusta University Police made contact with an employee/victim in reference to harassing phone calls to his office phone in Annex I (HS).  The victim stated that his ex-spouse left voice mail messages on his office phone from 06/28/16 to 07/03/16, which is a violation of a temporary Protective Order.  The victim was instructed on the procedure for applying for a warrant at the Richmond County Warrants Office for Aggravated Stalking.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 07-07-2016

On 07/07/2016, at 08:45 AM, Augusta University Police responded to Parking Lot #14 in reference to male in a burgundy Cadillac smoking Marijuana.  Officers made contact with the subject in the parking lot outside the Ronald McDonald House.  The subject gave consent to search his vehicle, a green leafy substance was found under the driver’s seat, which tested positive for marijuana.  The subject was arrested, processed, transported and booked into the Richmond County Jail, charged with Possession of Marijuana.  The Marijuana was taken as evidence.  The subject was also issued a Criminal Trespass Warning.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911

Stolen Vehicle w/ Recover and Arrest / 06-01-2016

On 06/01/2016, at 8:29 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Circle K Gas Station at 1501 Laney Walker Blvd. in reference to a stolen Augusta University Pickup Truck.  Contact was make with the complainant who stated he had filled up a University vehicle and went inside the station to pay, when he returned the truck was missing.  The vehicle was described as a white 1998 Chevrolet 3500 Crew Cab, with landscaping equipment in the bed of the truck.  Witnesses described a suspicious white male in the area wearing white shorts and a black and yellow shirt.  Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident.  A short later a Richmond County Deputy made contact with a witness who identified the above white male in white pickup truck.  The suspect was located on Barnes Lane, arrested and processed.  The stolen vehicle was located on Starnes Street near Crawford Avenue recovered and processed.  The subject was transported and booked into the Richmond County Jail, charged with Felony Theft By Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Weapon Violation w/ Arrest / 05-30-2016

On 05/30/2016, at 2:42 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the AU Hospital Emergency Department room C4 in reference to a suspicious male subject.  Officers made contact with the subject and made a check for weapons.  Officers found a loaded .22 caliber pistol in the subject’s right front pants pocket.  The pistol was taken as evidence and subject was taken into custody.  A GCIC check of the subject found the subject to be a convicted felon on probation.  The subject was processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the follow charges:  Possession of a Weapon on School Property and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Alcohol Violation / 05-10-2016

On 05/10/2016, at 6:18 PM, Augusta University Police observed two suspicious males in AUMC Parking Deck 10 (BN).  Officers attempted to stop and question the two subjects, but the subjected fled on foot.  One subject was stopped and the other got a way.  The detained subject was identified as a 19 year old in possession of alcohol.  The subject was placed into custody, processed, issued two citations and booked into the Richmond County Jail for Taking Flight and Under Age Possession of Alcohol  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Drug Violation / 03-26-2016

0n 03/26/2016, at 3:47 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia PICU 3920 in reference to an odor of marijuana. Contact was made with the complainant and she showed the officer a diaper bag she believed the odor was coming from. The diaper bag was open setting on the floor, the officer looked inside and observed two clear plastic bags containing a green leafy substance. The substance was taken and tested positive for marijuana. The parents for the patient were contacted and the father admitted the marijuana was his. The father was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana and also issued a Criminal Trespass Warning then escorted off the property. On 03/01/2016, at 9:27 PM, Augusta University Police stopped a Toyota Avalon for speeding on RA Dent Blvd. at Augusta Ave.  AU Police made contact the driver and asked for his driver’s license, the driver stated his license was suspended.  When the driver was questioned about the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle, the driver stated there was some in the center console.  A search found a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.  The driver was placed into custody, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail for Speeding, Driving with a Suspended License, and Possession of Marijuana.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

On 02/21/2016, at 7:01 PM, Augusta University Police stopped a silver Chrysler for failure to active headlights on RA Dent Blvd. at Mark Street.  AU Police made contact with the driver and detected a strong odor of Marijuana emitting form inside the vehicle.  The driver gave verbal consent to search the vehicle, which resulted in the officer finding a clear jar containing several packets of a green leafy substance in a storage compartment directly behind the driver’s seat.  The substance tested positive for marijuana, and was taken as evidence.  The driver was taken into custody, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail, for Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

On 02/11/2016, at 8:20 PM, Augusta University Police stopped a gold Honda Civic for failing to stop for a red light on 15th Street and Laney Walker Blvd.  The officer made contact with the driver and detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle.  The driver gave consent to a search of his vehicle, which resulted in the officer locating two small plastic bags containing a green leafy substance inside the vehicle, as well as a handgun.  The substance tested positive for marijuana, and was taken as evidence.  The driver was taken into custody, processed and booked into the Richmond Count Jail.  The driver was issued two citations for Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device and Possession of Marijuana.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Sexual Battery / 01-14-2016

On 01/14/2015, at 8:00 AM, Augusta University Police responded to Augusta University Medical Center in reference to a Sexual Battery that occurred in room 4654.  The victim (hospital employee) stated at 05:50 AM, while drawing blood from the patient, the patient’s son placed his hand on her buttock.  The victim then hit the subject’s hand and told him to never touch her like that again.  The subject stated that he accidentally hit the victim on the leg or buttock, with his elbow.  Statements were taken and the victim was instructed on how to file for a warrant from the Richmond County Warrants Office.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Stolen Vehicle / 01-13-2016

On 01/13/2016, at 12:12 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Boykin Wright Hall in reference to a stolen vehicle.  The complainant (August University employee) stated that he parked the mail delivery van outside Boykin Wright Hall, Summerville Lot 26, unlocked with the engine running, while he went inside to deliver mail.  The driver said he return in five minutes and the van was gone.  The vehicle is a 2006 white Chevrolet Express Van, with GA Tag PKU3099.  A search of the area failed to locate the van.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

On 01/12/2016, at 9:01 PM, Augusta University Police stopped a gold Chevrolet Impala for speeding on 15th Street at Central Avenue.  I check on the driver revealed his driver’s license was suspended.  The driver was taken into custody.  A search of the vehicle found a green leafy substance in a cigarette box on the floor adjacent to the driver’s seat, which tested positive for marijuana.  The driver was processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Suspended License, Possession of Marijuana, and Speeding.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.

Weapon Violation / 01-08-2016

On 01/08/2016, at 11:06 PM, Augusta University Police stopped a white Lincoln Aviator for speeding on 15th Street at Central Avenue.  Officers detected the strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle.  Officers observed what appeared to be a half smoked marijuana blunt sitting in plain view on the center console.  Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a set of scales with residue, an open container of beer and a pistol.  The blunt and residue tested positive for THC.  The driver was taken into custody.  A check found the driver was a convicted felon on probation.  The driver was processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Speeding, and Open Container of Alcohol.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the Augusta University Police Department at 706-721-2911.
