  •  Repair of congenital heart defects
  •  Mechanical assist device placement
  •  Aortic aneurysm surgery
  •  Endocardectomy to clear carotid arteries
  •  Bypass surgeries for peripheral vascular disease

Our renowned cardiothoracic surgeons play an integral role at our Heart and Cardiovascular Health Services Center, where we provide comprehensive, coordinated and team-based inpatient and outpatient care to patients with the full range of cardiovascular diseases, from arrhythmias to peripheral vascular disease, from heart attacks to carotid artery disease.

Our pediatric cardiothoracic surgery program includes a specialized pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon, cardiologists, neonatologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists and postoperative support groups dedicated to providing the best care for children with complex heart diseases.

We apply the same skill and focus to our research and educational resources. We are the only center in the state of Georgia and surrounding regions that aggressively implements blood conservation surgery to decrease or eliminate children's exposure to blood products, and to improve their operative and long-term outcome.
