GA Hemophilia Centers

A hemophilia treatment center (HTC) is a dedicated center where all of the staff is specially trained to support individuals with bleeding disorders.

HTCs are federally recognized centers of excellence, designed to prevent and reduce problems related to blood disorders by providing specialized, comprehensive care. The Adult Hemophilia Treatment Center at Augusta University is one of only two federally recognized Adult Hemophilia Treatment Centers in the state of Georgia.

Georgia Hemophilia Treatment Centers

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study found that the rate of hospital stays for bleeding-related events among patients seen in HTCs was 40% lower than the rates for patients seen in other care facilities. Patients seen in HTCs are 40% less likely than those seen elsewhere to die of a hemophilia-related complication.
