2. Personal Statement: Limited to 1 page and addresses candidate's professional development in education
and reason(s) seeking Academy Membership.
3. Teaching Portfolio:
The Teaching Portfolio contains documentation of the faculty's accomplishments in various education-related categories over the past five years. These categories include:
Important - Candidates are asked to indicate two areas in which they are outstanding and provide evidence to substantiate the quality and/or impact of their contributions.
Candidates may adopt any of the following formats for documenting their teaching and education accomplishments.
4. Completed Anticipated Academy Service form
5. Letter of support from candidate's department chair should be requested.
Application packets will be reviewed by a panel of Augusta University Academy Members and by selected Academy members from other institutions. Members will be selected by a consensus of reviewers. The criteria for acceptance will be based upon the documented quality of the candidate’s direct teaching activities, other educational activities, personal statement, and anticipated contributions to the Academy. Reviewers will evaluate each candidate’s application packet using the criteria on the Academy Membership Peer Review.
