Minor in Computer Science


The Hull College of Business offers a minor for students interested in achieving a fundamental understanding of the field of Computer Science. The minor consists of 5 courses (16 credit hours).


Minor Coursework

To earn a minor, students must complete the following courses with grades of "C" or better:

Lower Division Required Courses (7 hours)
  • CSCI 1301 – Principles of Computer Programming I
  • CSCI 1302 – Principles of Computer Programming II
Upper Division Elective Courses (9 hours)

  • CSCI 3500 – Theory of Computation
  • CSCI 3520 – Introduction to Cyber Security
  • CSCI 3531 – Introduction to Defensive Cyber Operations
  • CSCI 3532 – Cyber Network Defense and Counter Measures
  • CSCI 3541 – Digital Forensics
  • CSCI 3600 – Internet Programming
  • CSCI 4280 – TCP/IP Protocol Analysis
  • CSCI 4711 – Software Engineering
  • CSCI 4712 – Senior Capstone Project
  • CSCI 4800 – Compiler Writing
  • CSCI 4820 – Computer Graphics
  • Any other Upper Division (3000-4000) CSCI course
