Department of Medicine: General Internal Medicine
Originally from North Carolina, I attended Duke University where I obtained my BA in History in 1990. I received my degree in Medicine with Distinction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and my residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA in 1997. I moved to Georgia in 1997 where I have practiced general internal medicine in Peachtree City, GA followed by Emory University Student Health in Atlanta, before moving to Athens in 2003. I have been teaching with the AU/UGA Medical Partnership since its inception in 2010.
I currently serve as Assistant Professor and the Site Clerkship Director in Internal Medicine for the Athens Campus. I enjoy teaching clinical skills to the first year students and instructing the 3rd and 4th year students on Internal Medicine and my IM residents in clinic.
