Since its creation in 1983, the Music Conservatory Program has provided private and group music instruction of the highest quality to the Greater-Augusta community. With more than fifty faculty members and an annual enrollment of several hundred students, the Music Conservatory Program of Augusta University is the area’s leader in music instruction. The Augusta University Conservatory Program offers; music classes and workshops, music ensembles, summer music camps, and private music instruction. Private lessons are available for nearly every instrument including mandolin, banjo, penny whistle, recorder, classical and acoustic guitar, along with more traditional voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments.
The philosophy of the Music Conservatory Program is that music is for everyone, and is a vital part of the community. We welcome young and old, accomplished and beginner, students of all levels and visions.
We have an outstanding, professional faculty who enjoy challenging the promising musicianship of young musicians as well as guiding the advanced skills of more experienced musicians. Every faculty member in the Conservatory Program has earned at least an undergraduate degree in Music or Music Education and has teaching experience. Among the 53 teachers currently teaching for us, 23 have masters degrees, and 12 have completed doctorates in music.
