The Jaguar Jump Start Program is designed for students who meet all other admissions requirements, except have a freshman index below the required 2240.
During the program, you will be enrolled in two courses (a total of six college credit hours) that will count toward graduation and give you a jumpstart on your education. Upon successful completion of your summer courses, with a cumulative 2.0 or higher grade point average, you will be granted regular admission for the fall semester.
Students admitted to the Jaguar Jumpstart program will enroll in two college-level courses that will apply to all degree programs. You will also participate in daily, interactive college survival skills seminars, guided study opportunities and a weekly field trip in the Augusta community that connects to your math and English coursework. Jaguar Jumpstart runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
There are no housing requirements for students who participate in Jaguar Jumpstart. Students may elect to live in university housing, live off-campus, or commute from home. For students who wish to live in the residence halls, detailed information concerning summer check in times and locations will be available on the Housing & Residence Life website beginning in January.
Note: Jaguar Jumpstart students who wish to live in residence hall housing for the Fall Semester are not at a disadvantage in terms of obtaining their fall housing as they may submit their fall residence hall contract as they soon as they provide their deposit for the summer term.
Tuition for six credits of study is currently $1,318 for residents and $915 for mandatory fees. Housing and meal plans are available for a fee to any interested students. Students should also plan on additional costs for items such as books, transportation, and personal expenses.
Financial aid for Summer Session III term is limited. To be eligible, students must complete the 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to May 1, 2017.
