Day of Service for Augusta University will be Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. Employees, students and their families will be given the opportunity to serve our community through volunteering and serving those in need.

Jazz at the G logoTo recognize and appreciate all of our volunteers, a special celebration including a barbeque and jazz concert will be held the evening of Sept. 12 at the D. Douglas Barnard Jr. Amphitheatre. The celebration starts at 5:30 p.m., and barbeque will be served while supplies last. The jazz starts at 6 p.m. with Wycliffe Gordon & NuFunk Revolution and Travis Shaw and the Mike Frost Band as the featured performers. There is FREE admission for all volunteers who are wearing a Day of Service wristband. Other attendees can purchase their ticket online, at the Maxwell Theatre box office or at the door.

Coach Metress and the Augusta University Athletic Department are so thankful for your participation that they are giving FREE admittance to the Augusta University vs. Lander Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games on Jan. 9 to those who attend the game wearing their Day of Service T-shirts.

Need help with dog adoptions
DNA does dog adoptions for the shelter every Saturday at Pet Smart. Volunteers are needed to help walk dogs outside the door to go to the restroom, clean crates as the day goes on, get water for the dogs, talk to adopters, etc.
Also need help with crate painting
as adoptions are going on, we will need help spray painting the dog crates to make them look fresh and new. DNA will provide the materials for this. This will be done outside, at the back of the Augusta Pet Smart.
Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty; closed toe shoes.
Volunteers will need to sign volunteer waiver when they arrive.
